Ronald T. Hakala

Ronald T. Hakala played first chair horn in his top-rated high school concert band for four years. He has a degree in Public School Music from the Eastman School of Music, has done graduate work at Kent State University and SUNY at Buffalo.

Hakala has taught every subject in music in the public schools for more than 30 years. He has played the horn semi-professionally. Since moving to south Florida, he has played in many concert bands.

Hakala has composed for and conducted a professional flute choir. He has written two music books: “Handbook For The First Year Band Director” and “Musicianship For Adult Amateurs” in addition to pieces for various flute ensembles.
